What is Praxis?
Praxis means the act of engaging, applying and exercising ideas. It means practice; as distinguished from theory. Praxis at Humbervale is a discipleship, accountability and Bible study group where members seek to live out the disciplines of our faith as they lead us into the practice of the Great Commission and the Great Commandment. In Praxis, we meet weekly in gender-specific small groups to exercise the edification of the Saints, the examination of the Scriptures, and the evangelization of the lost. The activities of the group will help us to practice intentional relationships with one another through confession, prayer, and loving accountability & encouragement… We will practice the examination of Scripture by studying the Word and committing it to memory. We will practice personal evangelism by setting a path for and supporting each other in intentional gospel relationships. Loving God and loving others (both within and outside of the church) is the heart of Praxis.

At HPBC, we are committed to loving God and sharing that love with others. Taking our direction from Jesus’ words in Matthew 22:37-39, we seek to be a church that “loves the Lord our God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our mind…and to love our neighbours as ourselves.”
As a church, we are committed to “Loving God and Loving Others.”
